Skin Structure and Its Functions

Stratum germinativum an active selselnya basal layer divide to form new skin cells to the outside . This layer produces the pigment melanin . Pigment that determines the color of one's skin . Melanin to protect the skin tissue in order to avoid the dangers of ultraviolet rays .

Dermis tissue thicker than the epidermis . Dermis composed of connective tissue and collagen . Inside this layer there are sections such as blood vessels , hair follicles , sebaceous glands , sweat glands , nerve fibers , and a layer of fat subkutans .
