Previously the term commonly used for naming epithelial clear film that is located above the surface of the red bulge at the junction webbing lips ( Epi means above and Thele means lips ) . And now the term is used for all of the tissue that lines the surface of the body , organs or body surface tract in animals ( including humans ) . Acts as a protective epithelial tissue , sap spending , and absorption .
Based on the constituent layers , epithelial tissues are grouped into nine , namely :
1 . Flattened epithelial layer , which is a functioning network for the diffusion process , secretion , and filtration . Example : on the walls of blood vessels , lymph , kidney , and pericardium .
2 . Multilayered flat epithelium , which serves as a protective tissue underneath. Example : the oral cavity , the surface of the skin , esophagus , and nasal cavity .
3 . Epithelial layer of the cube , there are the organs that play a role in the process of spending gland and absorption processes . Example : the thyroid gland , ovary , and kidney tubules .
4 . Cube multilayered epithelium , owned by yanq organ function in the process of secretion and absorption . Example : in the sweat glands , oil glands , ovaries , and testicles .
5 . Cylindrical epithelial layer , there are the organs that play a role in the process of spending a substance in the body , absorption , and smoothed . Example : on the walls of the intestines , the stomach wall , and oviduct .
6 . Multi-layered cylindrical epithelium , found in organs and functions as a secretion and movement .
7 . Quasi- cylindrical multilayered epithelium , has vibrating bristles on its surface . There is the organ that acts as a protective layer , secretion , and the movement of substances across the surface . Example : nasal cavity , trachea .
8 . Transitional epithelium , indeterminate form , found in the ureter , bladder , and urethra .
9 . Epithelial gland , can sap secreted form of the enzyme , sweat , saliva , or hormones . Based on how secrete fluid , glandular epithelium is divided into two , namely exocrine and endocrine glands .
